Spanish Flan

 


Ingredients
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, melt sugar until liquefied and golden in color. Carefully pour hot syrup into a 9 inch round glass baking dish, turning the dish to evenly coat the bottom and sides. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat eggs. Beat in condensed milk, evaporated milk and vanilla until smooth. Pour egg mixture into baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil.
  4. Bake in preheated oven 60 minutes. Let cool completely.
  5. To serve, carefully invert on serving plate with edges when completely cool.

Birthday Special

 Yesterday was my Friend Sahar's birthday! Its been a while ever since my best friend moved to Dubai! But this is to show her that i still remember her and she will always be close to my heart!!

Our Valentine!!!

Going to Tampere was my husband's idea! So we had his early valentines and this was mine! Since he was working yesterday i made him a surprise romantic dinner at home!! He loved the food! And since im soo broke, the dinner covered the present he gave me in Tampere!! Smart huh!! looool
This is what i got from him! Diamond and pearl ring!!! Thanx Babe!!!


Here are the recipes of the food i made! Enjoy!!!

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce!

Ingredients:
  •  1 tablespoon olive oil
  •  1 tablespoon minced garlic
  •  3 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  •  1 teaspoon paprika
  •  1/2 cup brown sugar
  •  3/4 cup red wine
  •  salt and pepper to taste

Directions:
  1. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium high heat. Cook garlic in oil until tender. Place chicken in the skillet, and cook about 10 minutes on each side, until no longer pink and juices run clear.
  2. Drain oil from skillet. Sprinkle chicken with paprika and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Pour red wine around chicken. Let simmer about 15 to 20 minutes; lightly baste chicken with wine sauce while cooking. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Here is the cake recipe N u can decorate it however you want!!

Ingredients;

120g unsweetened chocolate. chopped
1/3cup (30g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup (240ml) boiling water
2 1/4 cups ( 295) all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup(226g) unsalted butter, room temperature
2 cups(400g)granulated white sugar
3 large eggs
2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup(240ml) milk

Frosting:

140g unsweetened chocolate, chopped
1/3 cup (80ml) milk
4 cups(454g) confectioners (powdered or icing) sugar,sifted
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspons pure vanilla extract
1/2 cup(113g) softened unsalted butter, diced

My Short Trip To Tampere

Tampere is a city in southern Finland. It is the most populous inland city in any of the Nordic countries. I was there for only 3 days but it was great! It is one of the beautiful places i have ever seen. Even though it was cold and snowy but it was still beautiful. Tampere is one of the towns that still preserve their buildings, so most of the buildings looks amazing!!!
Here are pix i took during my 3 day trip! I call it our " early valentines trip"!!! Enjoy!!!

Mwendo wa kobe!! hehhe my mum used to drive something like this, when i was like 3 years old or something!! hehhe i missed mum!! N i also freaked out when i saw the manicans in the car!! heheh
Its the bigest steam machine in Northen Europe!!!!

Todays Menu!!

BIRIANI

Ingredients:

Beaf meat 400g
½ cup of unflavoured jogurt
Garlic 1tsp
Ginger 1tsp
2 tomatoes                                             
chili
Tomato paste 2tblsp

1 Beef  stock cube                                    
½tsp paprikka 
1tblsp biriani spices 
2 potatoes

2 cups Oil
3 Onions

How to make the meat :
     1.On a pan put the meat, blend the tomatoes and garlic together and pour them in the meat, add chili,ginger, Jogurt, tomato paste, paprikka,beef cube and salt. Put them in the heat and let it cook.

 2.     In another pan pour oil and fry the onions till they turn golden brown. Take them out and put them aside. 

 3.     Fry the potatoes and put them aside. 

 4.     Pour 2 tblsp oil from the onion & potatoes oil you fried before. Let it cook in a low heat until the meat is tender and the water has dried off.

5.     put the onions and potatoes in the meat pan and let it boil with low heat.


Rice ingredients:

 1½dl Rice
water

pinch of Salt
2tblsp Oil
food color ¼tsp
*safron ½ tsp (If you have)

*add the safron and food color in a cup with 1 tblsp water and let it be for 2 mins .
How to make the rice:

   1.rinse the rice with clean water and let it to soak for 5 mins.

    2.Boil 1½- 2 cups of waterAdd salt and 1tblsp oil
   3. Let it boil until when it is middle cooked, pour the water away. Divide the rice in    two.
   4. Add the color in one half of the rice. Stir it well and add the rest of the rice.

  5. Put it in the oven for atleast 20mins and its done.

:.. NB: normally tanzanians eat the food with salad, chili and banana!!! Enjoy!!!
